Rich’s and Vu Phuc Baking contributed wedding cakes to the mass wedding of the Mekong Delta region.

In honor of the Vietnamese Women’s Day, Oct. 20, Rich’s Vietnam and Thu Bakery – Vu Phuc Baking Company collaborated to make 21 wedding cakes for 21 couples at the Mass Wedding of the Mekong Delta region held by the People’s Committee in Can Tho city.

With the skills and the heart of a bakery teacher, Mrs. Thu Ta (Ta Thi Thu), the founder of Vu Phuc Baking Company, came up with the idea for the decoration of a huge cake covered in gold glitter with the diameter of 60 cm.

For the wedding took place on the Vietnamese Women’s Day, Mrs. Thu not only agreed to contribute 21 wedding cakes but also had to produce 30 other cakes for regular customers of her bakery.

Despite being a founder of a big company, she still piped each and every decorative flower, washed roses and decorated the cakes with the help from Rich’s Technical Sales Representatives.

With great harmony, the group of 6 from both companies worked from early morning until late at night on Oct. 19 and finished 21 wedding cakes within just one day.

All of the ingredients used throughout the process were Rich’s, and Rich’s technical people vonlunteered to help Mrs. Thu, hoping to bring a meaningful day to the couples.

Morning Oct. 20, twenty-one couples in Vietnamese traditional dresses were present at Ninh Kieu Wharf, in front of Uncle Ho’s monument to thurify. Among the couples, some were still young, some were middle-aged, and others had special conditions.

People from different walks of life all registered to participate in this Mass Wedding Ceremony in Can Tho city and shared the most beautiful day of their lives together at Ninh Kieu Wharf—a symbolic location of Mekong Delta. Balloons were let go on the Starlight Bridge as a symbol of the elevation of emotions and a shining bright future for the couples.

At the official wedding ceremony in Diamond restaurant, the couples exchanged their glasses of wine and cut the wedding cakes. The People’s Committee handed marriage certificates to the newlyweds in front of everybody who attended the event, legalizing the marriages. Mrs. Thu and other sponsors came on stage and put wedding rings on the brides’ fingers.

The ceremony was attended by famous comedian Phu Quy, who improvised some comedic poems about marriage on stage. During his interview with a couple, the audience got to hear an emotional story about two people in their 40s falling love for the first time.

This wedding day was the first time they’d held hands, kissed and shared the excitement of first love. Blushing cheeks and shy kisses were applauded in the midst of cheering shouts from the audience, making the day full of emotions and happiness.

Twenty one wedding cakes as white as the brides’ dresses symbolized stainless love. Rich’s Vietnam wishes the couples of the Mekong Delta region a lifetime of happiness and togetherness.
