Pink Snow - Tropical Christmas Beverage

“The secret to creating a trendy drink is to identify for which audience and season your beverage is being served. Based on such motto, I create Pink Snow exclusively for Vietnamese Christmas.”

That is what Alex Tran said about his unique drink—Pink Snow. In accordance with his words, Christmas in a tropical country like Vietnam does not have the freezing weather like Western countries. So, this season’s beverage trend not only revolves around warm drinks but also emphasizes on cool, refreshing beverages like Pink Snow.

This new creation of his has a layer of shaved ice on top, which symbolizes the snow. It combines with the eye-catching pink liquid underneath to inspire the name “pink snow”.

Snow is a familiar symbol of the winter season. And pink in the eyes of a southern Vietnamese like Alex represents the mix of Christmas tropical colors: White conveys the feel of the year-end cold; red is the warmth of the tropical climate, and green represents the cool fresh tropical air.

“A bartender must fully understand the ingredients to create a perfect combination,” Alex Tran explains the interesting taste hidden inside the pink color of Pink Snow.

Using strawberry syrup and pink guava juice, he creates the signature sweet-and-sour flavor of tropical fruits and brings a shade of red into the drink. Such shade fuses with the white color of Rich’s Non-Dairy Creamer and sugarless raw milk to give Pink Snow a natural, unique pink.

One December’s afternoon, Alex Tran performed his Pink Snow recipe at the Customer Care Center of Rich Products Vietnam, with fully prepared ingredients. Everybody presenting at the place was eagerly expecting a skillful performance from him – who takes the role of a beverage technical sales representative of Rich’s.

After pouring all ingredients into the shaker, Alex added ice to the mix and shook it well in a professional manner. After that, he poured the mix into a chilled glass. Now, the drink has a pleasing reddish-pink, which is also the featured color of Pink Snow. Alex put a shaved ice layer on top and placed a rosemary branch into the glass.

“Before placing the rosemary, remember to whip the rosemary branch gently across your hand, for a special reason,” Alex noted.

The secret was only revealed when his audience in the Customer Care Center tried Pink Snow themselves: When they were drinking, the rosemary branch touched their noses, suddenly emitted a pleasant pine aroma and reminded them of the cozy Christmas atmosphere. People then finally understood whipping the rosemary branch was meant to release its smell and creating a great fragrance for Pink Snow.

Pink Snow has the sweet-and-sour flavor of the strawberry syrup - but it’s not too strong, because pink guava juice softens the original strawberry taste. The flavor that remains on your tongue is the delicious light sweetness of tropical fruits.

Especially, Rich’s Non-Dairy Creamer mixed with sugarless raw milk make a pleasant creamy taste for the drink, which wakes up all the taste buds in your mouth. Alex Tran revealed that such creaminess comes from Rich’s Non-Dairy Creamer – used for creating a creamy taste that is not too sweet, suited for many beverage applications.

That winter afternoon, everybody admired and appraised Alex’s Pink Snow. Pink Snow is tasty, not too cold, and carries a refreshing feel of the typical tropical Christmas.

“Even if you live in a cold place, enjoying a cool drink like Pink Snow also brings you a fulfilling experience for its flavor and aroma.”

That is the final message from Alex Tran that day to those interested in a special tropical drink like Pink Snow for this Christmas season.
